A 28-year-old gas station attendant who co-workers say was on the job for only a week was shot dead in the Bronx during what police say was an attempted robbery Tuesday night. Gus Rosendale has the story.
Police have arrested and charged a 21-year-old man in the killing of a gas station worker in the Bronx during an attempted robbery last week.
Co-workers said Lamin Sellah, 28, had worked at the gas station near East 182 Street and Southern Boulevard for only a week when he was shot dead.
Police arrested Freddie McGrier, 21, on Friday and charged him with murder, robbery and criminal possession of a weapon.
Police said two suspects were involved in the robbery shooting -- one as a lookout, the other as a shooter. The would-be robbers seemed to have fled without stealing anything, and Sellah still had money in his pockets.
The NYPD did not have any information about the second suspect.
