Traffic Knotted Up After Armored Truck Spills Cash on NJ Highway

An armored truck spilled a bag of cash on a busy New Jersey highway Thursday morning, snarling traffic and creating an odd scene.

A Guarda truck was traveling on U.S. Route 46 in Wayne when a bag of cash tumbled out onto the roadway. A car hit the bag as it hit the ground and money flew out all over the roadway, police said.

A photo captured from a nearby car dealership showed the truck's driver picking up the loose dollar bills with the help of a motorist. Police said employees at the car dealership also helped pick up the loose cash.

Police responded to the spill, and a long line of traffic formed on the roadway until the money was all collected.

The money was all picked up by about 9 a.m., authorities said.
