13 Dogs Found Hungry, Thirsty in Crown Heights Apartment

Animal control officers came across a sad scene in Crown Heights Thursday afternoon: 13 hungry and thirsty abandoned dogs. The dogs, including 10 puppies, were found in the apartment on Sterling Place and Rochester Avenue. The body of a Rottweiler was also found inside the home. Neighbors told Animal Control that the dogs were left in the apartment by their owner, who was taken to the hospital more than a week ago and is thought to have since passed away. Authorities say they plan to move the dogs into permanent homes after they’ve been evaluated and had medical check-ups.
