10-Year-Old Boy Struck by Ambulance, Seriously Hurt: Police

A child was struck by an ambulance in East Harlem on Saturday, officials say.

An ambulance hit a 10-year-old boy in East Harlem on Saturday afternoon, seriously injuring him, police said. 

The boy suffered a serious leg injury and was taken to Cornell Medical Center in serious condition, the NYPD said. 

He was riding his bike when he was struck by an FDNY ambulance at 99th Street and First Avenue at about 4:30 p.m. His parents were with him at the time of the crash. 

Witnesses say the ambulancedidn't have its lights and sirens on and was turning slowly, but ran right over the boy.
