The Library is on Fire: the Manhattan Scene is Dead

Nonstop Sound spoke with Steve Five of The Library is on Fire on the roof of the band’s Bushwick-based headquarters. Five discussed how, in utter rejection of many Manhattan music venue’s unsavory characteristics, he decided to take matters into his own hands and create a space where he could perform when he wanted, in this case 1 a.m. on a Friday night, and only alongside bands he likes, in this case a meticulously-curated post-punk spread. Listen to the band’s latest LP, Works on Paper, here.
