On Ludlow Street With The Pains of Being Pure at Heart

Nonstop Sound spoke with indie pop-rockers The Pains of Being Pure at Heart before their headlining gig for the NYC Popfest, which was held at Cake Shop in the Lower East Side. The band spoke on their love of New York, claiming it’s unique in that you can get anything you want here, even 3 a.m., especially a slice of pizza. The sold-out performance rocked Cake Shop’s underground lair-like venue, allowing for an intimate performance from a band which typically plays at larger venues like Webster Hall and the Music Hall of Williamsburg.
