El Chapo's IT Guy Helped the FBI Bring the Cartel Kingpin Down | News 4 Now

Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman’s former IT guy, Christian Rodriguez, testified this week in an incredible turn of events in the federal drug trafficking trial. The former tech guru for the Siniloa drug cartel said he built an encrypted comms network for El Chapo’s criminal enterprise and installed spyware to keep tabs on Guzman’s wife, Emma Coronel Aispuro. Rodriguez also testified that he flipped and worked with the FBI to bring down El Chapo and his empire, and suffered a nervous breakdown when the cartel found out. Anchor Stefan Holt also reports on a funeral for FDNY firefighter Steven Pollard, the latest in the partial government shutdown and an update on flu season.
