Controversial Breast Cancer Guidelines

In 2009, new guidelines came out advising mammograms be limited to women in their 50s and 60s. But one local doctor says lives are saved when women get mammograms early in their lives. Dr. Patrick Borgen, who is the head of the Breast Cancer program at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, discusses the importance of starting annual mammograms at 40. And 46-year-old Rimma Elegudin, who was recently diagnosed with breast cancer, shares the story of how she detected the disease.
