Some showers and thunderstorms moved through the tri-state Thursday evening as a cold front passes hits the area, Storm Team 4 says.

Conditions stayed partly cloudy and sunny for most of the day, with highs in the low-to-mid 80s. The temperatures are a little bit over average for this time of year but afternoon showers brough the thermometer down few degrees.

A line of rain showers and isolated thunderstorms quickly moved from northwest of the city onto Long Island around 5 p.m. There were also scattered storms over New Jersey, but none of the cells produced any severe weather for the tri-state area.

The cold front will cool down temps for Friday a bit, to around 75 degrees, but Storm Team 4 says the mercury is expected to climb back into the low 80s for the weekend.

While the weekend forecast generally looks warm and dry, Storm Team 4 is not ruling out the possibility of an evening storm Saturday.
