Seven New York Goes E-Commerce

On the one hand, it's exciting that Soho boutique Seven New York has launched an online store. The kind of avant-guard clothing Seven carries—by designers like Jeremy Scott, ThreeAsFour, Gareth Pugh—can be hard to find on foot, especially for those who don't live in NYC. On the other hand, the store's owners clearly put a lot of thought into the store's physical space, on 110 Mercer Street at Spring Street, so there's something a little off-point about shopping there via the Internet.

On the other other hand, the changes to the site have made it highly user-friendly, as StyleList helpfully summarizes. "Each designer has their own lookbook and each garment is viewable from multiple angles. Plus it's easy to zoom in on the important details. There's helpful notes on fit and sizing. And they'll ship to anywhere in the world." Maybe the solution is to research online and buy in person, or vice versa.
