Progress Report: Nothing Happening in Nusraty Space

Last month, longstanding Bleecker Street boutique Nusraty Afghan Imports broke out the teary shutter signage to announce their imminent closure. The shop, shuttered on August 10th, will be replaced by the first-ever stand alone store for Brooks Bros. Black Fleece line designed by Thom Browne. Except that, according to a tipster who's been monitoring the corner of Bleecker and West 10th vigilantly, Brooks Bros. has yet to do anything to the space. Well, there's really no rush—except they must be paying ridiculous amounts for the real estate. As for Nusraty, there is no word yet on their promise to return to the Village.
