Now Open: Beacon's Much Bigger Slope Store Debuts

Beacon's Closet has decided to give its Park Slope customers the breathing and shopping room they needed. The thrift store has transported its stock of gently-used clothing into a much-larger space at 92 Fifth Avenue and Warren—a storefront that's more than twice the size of the store's original location at 220 Fifth Avenue near Union Street. Despite the additional room between the racks of jackets, shirts, dresses and pants, the store felt packed as usual this Sunday, with a three-hour checkback time for consignment and lines for both the dressing rooms and the cash register.
