Martha Stewart Holds a Craft Sale

Yep, the Doyenne of D.I.Y. brings it to the people. Plus the BUST Craftacular and more

GOOD THINGS: There are craft sales, and there are craft sales hosted by Martha Stewart -- and you can guess which one we’d rather go to. On Saturday, dozens of artisans and crafters, including D.I.Y. dames and gents from within the MS Omnimedia family, will be selling their handmade projects at the Martha Stewart Omnimedia Holiday Craft Sale. Starrett-Lehigh Building, 601 West 26th Street, 9th Floor; 212-389-4026. 12-6PM.

TEA TIME: This set of five Victorian measuring spoons is so delicately elegant, we’re considering wearing the thing as a brooch – after all, the spoons do come affixed to a giant pin. $24.95 at Anthropologie; find stores here.

BONANZA: More than 200 D.I.Y. vendors pack the Metropolitan Pavilion for the 2009 BUST Craftacular, hawking their handmade apparel, paper goods, home décor and so much more; plus, local charities will be on hand so you can do good while shopping. Last year’s attendance capped at about 6,000. Translation: Arrive early. Metropolitan Pavilion, 123 West 18th Street, 212-463-0200. Sunday, 10AM-7:30PM.

SPARKLY: Surely your home needs a Da Vinci chandelier by Schonbek, whether it’s a classic six or a studio with a bed that abuts the kitchen. Twenty-one of them festoon Henri Bendel this holiday season, dripping with Swarovski Crystal strass. Bid on them in a silent auction or just take in all that bling at the store. Henri Bendel, 712 5th Avenue; 212-319-4888.

ELF HELP: If books make up your holiday gift list, head to Greenpoint’s WORD bookstore this weekend. They’ve enlisted a host of bestselling local authors – including A.J. Jacobs and Lev Grossman – to act as your very own personal shoppers: they’ll recommend favorite titles, sign copies of their own, and even lend a hand with gift-wrapping. More information here.
