Last Days for Mayle

We've been bemoaning the loss of cult indie label Mayle since back in October, when the news first hit that designer Jane Mayle was going to close her Nolita boutique's doors in 2009, and now it seems the moment is finally here: March 31 will be the store's last day before shutting its doors forever.

Instead of just having a conventional sample sale blowout, the line made the unconventional move of creating a kind of pop-up store for the month of March called "Ten Little Indians," comprised of a series of ever-changing, limited-edition re-editions of classic Mayle stalwards—from an old "Cliveden top" to a "Therese dress."

While fans of Mayle's covetable, retro-feminine aesthetic have been swooning over the old-meets-new pieces in the shop's windows, this is your last chance to snap up some of the label's last pieces. If you can't make it by the store, your other last resort will be to click through the selection of Mayle pieces still available for sale on lagarconne.com—it isn't much, but it might be enough to coast you through the season.
