Quirky and colorful bric-a-brac and doodad purveyors Fred Flare are poised to open their first brick-and-mortar store at 131 Meserole Avenue in Greenpoint within the hour. An email from co-owner Chris Bick:
BIG NEWS... We almost finished setting up our store so we've decided we're gonna open TODAY at 3pm for a secret trial run. The A/C doesn't really work yet and there isn't even a sign on the door but we're shooting to open for a VERY limited time, 3-5pm as well as trying out some limited hours this weekend, Sat 10/11 & Sun 10/12 12-5pm, just to get some practice ringing up customers and seeing how it's all gonna work in real life.
The store's grand opening party is Friday, October 24th at 7pm.
