BOMBSHELL: Topshop, Uniqlo Considering Fifth Ave

This January, Brooks Brothers consolidated their Fifth and Madison Ave locations, leaving a plum storefront at Fifth and 53rd vacant. Abercrombie swooped in, then decided to move into another space recently vacated by bankrupt brand Hickey. All that leads us to today: the Cuozz reports that a bunch of retailers are fighting over Brooks' old home, including Topshop and Uniqlo. Those two are the most likely candidates, though Century 21, Zara and Forever 21 are all interested as well. Will we get robots and colorful basics; or a boatload of Brits, lots of leggings and miniskirts, and a few Kate Moss guest appearances? Time will tell.
