Think El-Ad Properties gives a darn about all those Plaza penthouse lawsuits? Heck no, they bought the landmark for the value of the Plaza brand, one they can now extend to a planned $5 billion Plaza resort and casino on the Las Vegas strip. A judge ruled that El-Ad can use the Plaza name on the project, even though there already is a Plaza Hotel & Casino in Vegas (right). El-Ad's seven-tower, 6,700-room supersizing of the Plaza was delayed due to financing issues, but is now scheduled for a 2012 opening. [NYT]
