It's official, Robert LiMandri has been sworn in as Commissioner of the Department of Buildings. He became Acting Commissioner in April after Patricia Lancasterexited the stage following the little problems of cranes falling over and killing people and demolishing buildings. Sayeth the Mayor: "Under Bob’s leadership, the Department has launched innovative enforcement programs to tackle high-risk construction activities, and by doing so, he is already raising the standards of safety and improving industry accountability. I am confident that he will continue to do so in his tenure as Commissioner." Here's hoping. [CurbedWire Inbox]
