"A con artist real-estate agent tricked a prospective tenant out of two years' rent - $100,000 - for two apartments, authorities said. The woman handed over her life savings to Leif Lopez, a licensed broker she met on Craigslist and who had legitimately rented her a different Midtown home two weeks before. But he took the cash for two apartments at 410 W. 53rd St. - and disappeared." The renter had planned on using the apartments as hotel rooms, also likely illegal. [NYP]
