Rainbow Room, Landlord Work Toward Tentative Deal

Landmark restaurant could stay at 30 Rock

It appears a landmark Midtown restaurant might stay put.

A tentative agreement is in the works between the owners of the Rainbow Room and its landlord, Tishman Speyer, sources told News4 Monday night.

The two had been engaged in an icy rent dispute, and last month, Tishman Speyer evicted the restaurant – which is owned by the Cipriani family – on grounds that the family didn’t make its rent payments. Those payments are estimated at $50,000 per month.

More details could be released Tuesday.

Tishman Speyer also is the landlord for WNBC’s studios in Rockefeller Center.
