With Wall Street layoffs expected to climb and an era of sensible spending on the way (maybe?), real estate professionals will have to broaden their horizons and not solely market Financial District condos to the young masters-of-the-universe crowd. And in a bit of good timing, Joyce Cohen's The Hunt column in Sunday's Times spotlighted a couple (combined age: 104!) who recently bought at be@William. So what do they think of the 'hood? "The sun was streaming in, it was like Europe with a cafe nearby and a grocery store across the street, and the price was good for Manhattan." On the communal amenities: "It seems like it was designed to be a friendly place, and the interactions have been really cool."
