Meet the Most Expensive Mansion in Brookyn Ever: $10.8M

Okay, so we're only talking about about a small advantage over the previous champ, but still, in this market a $10.8 million sale at 88 Remsen Street in Brooklyn Heights is nothing to sniff at. (The previous record holder was a $10.75M sale at 140 Columbia Heights, but that was back in the good old days of 2006.) Brownstoner breaks the news that there may still be a lot of life left in the high-end Brooklyn market. The listing describes our manse as incorporating "early Greek-Revival woodwork, which was later modified with post-Civil War period details....The main house contains approximately 10,000 square feet over five stories, with beautiful wood detail, moldings and floors..." The buyer is an LLC, but Brown Harris Stevens, which brokered the deal confirmed the $10.8M price.
