Madison Square's Toy Center Condos Get a New Crown

The "toy blocks" will not be coming to the Toy Center. Reps from Tessler Development reached out to let us know that, yes, an eight-story addition is planned for 1107 Broadway, the condo conversion of the north building of the former International Toy Center at Madison Square Park. However, architect Eran Chen's toy-inspired design will not be what gets built. Instead, Tessler will move ahead with the more traditional and uniform design seen above, created by British architect John Pawson, who designed Ian Schrager's 50 Gramercy Park North. No word as to when construction and marketing will get underway. Blame that whole market meltdown thing.
