The odd thing about this annotated bank poster from Greenpoint is that, you know, the neighborhood has a large Polish population and--not to generalize or anything--Germany is not necessarily revered by many residents. They don't call part of Greenpoint Little Poland for nothing, friends. Yet, here we have it, "Amerika is kaput. Deutschland is the new super power now." Crap. Not this Deutschland thing again. That is so freaking 20th Century. Next thing you know, they'll want the Burg and Bushwick for leibensraum. We thought the 21st Century issue was China.
