Tempo earned itself a little pub over the weekend, when the Times became briefly enamored with the $500,000 building hologram in the sales office (what slowdown?). But to us, the building is most notable for being the site of a long-vacant temple. Yes, Tempo was a temple. But now, in the no man's land of East 23rd Street (well, there is a McDonald's), the only praying going on is for young buyers to still have the means to pony up for new-construction condos. We say young, because the "smart wired" apartments, Tempo Fitness gym and the high-in-the-sky Up Tempo hangout area (grass beds!) all reek of vigor. Other sharable amenities abound, because if folks are going to plant their flags on East 23rd Street, they should probably stick together.
