"As someone who lives in the complex, I can say that this is a sign of huge problems in the system. These buildings are a disgusting mess. There is nothing worth saving about them. While I don't endorse some large glassy tower, I certainly don't think this building merits landmarks. Thats like giving something as hideous as a polyester leisure suit landmark status simply because it is old. How about the Gremlin? They are crappy cars, but hey, they are old. Landmark it. Whoever fought to get this landmarked needs glasses, a hobby (other than attending community board meetings), and probably a passport.
