Among the many interesting items of news today is this tidbit: the city doesn't really want to talk about what it's spending to acquire land for the intended $3 billion mega-development. This is not making the City Council, many of whose members already have issues with the hyper-controversial plan, happy. The city has earmarked $400 million in this year's budget for Willets Point, but "has refused to provide details about the five land deals it has inked at the gritty industrial zone near Shea Stadium." The city has deals for three of the 62 acres of land it wants. A City Council vote will come on November 12. [NYDN; Willets Point Coverage]
