What is going on at Julian Schnabel's pink Palazzo? We've seen the Chupster go through some repairs in the past, but something this time around just seems so much more serious. A pair of very concerned Curbed tipsters write in from West 11th Street:
1) "Walked by Palazzo Chupi today. The triplex is clad in blackscreen and scaffolding was over the entire width of the first story. Some activity was brewing. Also the pink color seems to be fading very fast as well..."
2) "The pink façade may be on its way out, has been removed from a swath at the top and scaffolding is up again. Pink to be replaced by what?"
No new work permits on file with the DOB, but a caller did complain about falling debris a week ago. No violation was issued by the inspector.
