NYC bars, restaurants host inaugural fun

When Barack Obama was elected on November 4, New Yorkers spilled out of their bars and apartments and took to the streets. While we can't promise the same thing will happen when he takes the oath of office on Tuesday, we can point you to dozens of restaurants and bars that will be celebrating the historic event. Choose carefully, as this will be part of your "where were you when..." stories for a long time.

DAYTIME EVENTS

Bloomingdale Road: Three-course "Inaugural Lunch" featuring soup, sandwich, and ice cream; specialty cocktails; $9.95 (does not include cocktails). 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Campo: Three-course "Bye Bye Bush" lunch; complimentary Champagne: $9.99. 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Chanterelle: Three-course "Welcome to the White House" lunch includes "Yes We Can Champagne Cocktail" (prosecco, kumquat liquor, and orange bitters), tax, and gratuity: $44. 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

EVENING EVENTS

Arlene's Grocery: "Rockbama! A Political Party for the People" concert featuring Twice As Bright, Victor Victor Band, Kissy Kamakaze, Rich Girls, and Giulio Gallarotti: $6 cover ($3 with RSVP). 8 p.m. to midnight.

Back Forty: Dance party with D.J. Mr. Fine Wine; free snack buffet; cash bar: $40. 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.

The Bell House: "Brooklyn Inaugural Ball" featuring performances by Karen Gibson Roc, South African Music Collective, and D.J. Stone: $75. 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Bobo: Cocktail hour; three-course dinner; dancing; Obama impersonators: $75 (does not include drinks with dinner). Seatings at 8 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.

Camaradas El Barrio: Inauguration party with Navagente: free. 6 p.m. to midnight.

The General Greene: "Inaugural Luau" featuring $5 Mai Tais and $20.09 roasted pig plate: no cover. 5:30 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Joloff (930 Fulton St., at St. James Pl., Brooklyn): Dinner and dancing: $20. 8:30 p.m. on.

Latitude Bar and Lounge: "Goodbye Bush Bash" featuring Bush-themed drink specials: no cover. 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.

(Le) Poisson Rouge: Inauguration concert featuring Apollo Heights, 24-7 Spyz, HR: $15. 8 p.m.

Savoy: Cocktail party with passed hors d'oeuvre; open bar: $75. 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Sidecar: Special food and drink menu including "Hawaiian Punch Barack-Tails" and Chicago hot dogs: no cover. 6 p.m. to midnight.

Caffe e'Vino: Free bottle of wine for tables of three or four; free glass of wine or beer per person for tables of one or two; no cover. 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Chez Oskar: Three-course "Prix Fixe for Peace" from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.; specialty cocktails all night: prix fixe $20.09; cocktails à la carte. 11 a.m. to midnight.

davidburke townhouse: Menu additions including CarpacciObama (seared tuna with pineapple carpaccio, taro root, and spicy soy): à la carte. Lunch: noon to 2:30 p.m.; dinner: 5 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.

Fishtail by David Burke: Menu additions inspired by Obama's favorite foods including langoustines and grits: à la carte. 5 p.m. to 1 a.m.

Green Apple Cafe (110 DeKalb Ave., nr. Ashland Pl., Clinton Hill, Brooklyn): Two-for-one black-and-white cookies, two-for-one "Obama Lattes" (chocolate and vanilla). 7:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Inc. Lounge: Inauguration party with "Inauguration Cocktail" (vermouth, bourbon, and bitters): no cover. Noon to midnight.

The Hideout: Complimentary coffee, tea, juice, and sandwiches, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. 10 percent off all drinks, 7 p.m. to 2 a.m.

La Fonda Boricua: "Rumba Para Obama" featuring drink specials and music: no cover. 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Hill Country: Special menu items and cocktails, including Obama Mama (pineapple-infused vodka, curaçao, and soda): à la carte. Noon to 1 a.m.

Hudson River Cafe: Two-course prix fixes for lunch and dinner; live music. $20 for lunch, $35 for dinner.
