Jesi Solomon, formerly of the Stanton Social and the pre–Matt Levine Thor, is rolling out his food program at the Gates this Thursday, and we have a first look at the menu. This being a self-declared “super luxury restaurant/bar,” you know there are going to be savory “lollipops” (just like the “Crispy Coconut Prawn Lollipops” at Avenue or the bacon on a stick at 675 Bar) to go with your $18 cocktails. And you know there’s gong to be some sort of bite-sized macaroni and cheese à la Death & Co. — so it’s no surprise that there are Mac and Cheese Lollipops (shown here). And you know there’s going to be a fancy burger — just like Avenue has its Kobe beef sliders, the Gates has its veal burger with foie-gras mustard. But less expected is the “BBQ Pork Belly Pizza.” Hmmm. The rest of the offerings are below.
