If you love Spanish wine, then this week was made just for you.

New York City is celebrating Rioja week through May 2, with 50 participating restaurants offering $25 and $50 price fixe menus that come with a glass of Rioja.

Strategically placed between the Atlantic and the Mediterranean, the Rioja region in northern Spain produces the majority of its acclaimed red wines from the Tempranillo grape in addition to growing and utilizing Garnacha, Mazuelo and Graciano – which are often used for blending with Tempranillo.

Though reds are most certainly the sweetheart of the region, it also boasts several acclaimed whites and rosés.
