Restaurant Week Gets Strong Extension

Popular promotion to last much of February at many eateries

You can now probably call it Restaurant Month.

T
he popular week of prix fix menus at select New York City eateries has been extended until Feb. 27 -- weeks longer than the original end date.

Kevin Gerstmayr, of Chelsea, said he plans to get out there and get some grub.

"I've taken advantage of it in multiple many years in the past, [but I] haven't had a chance this year," he said. "The news that it's being extended is good news for me and it's probably good news for a lot of New Yorkers, too."

More than 150 restaurants from Brooklyn, Queens and Manhattan are participating this year, some on Sundays. A select few are even adding extras like a free glass of wine with each prix fix meal.

Each menu is three courses. For lunch, the deal will set you back $24.07 and dinner deals will cost you $35 (excluding beverages, tax and gratuity).
