Dogmatic, now certified open
1) Flatiron/Union Square: The popular Dogmatic Sausage System cart in Bleecker Park has expanded to a new restaurant set to open today on E. 17th Street. No less than four readers have alerted us to the opening. Says one: "Dogmatic, the fancy hot dog place (I mean 'Gourmet Sausage System') is open on 17th just off of Union Square. Picked up a couple of sausages and iced yerba mate. They are still getting their service together, but the food is pretty darn good. 2) Soho: On Friday, Thrillist had word on the opening of Italian resto, Via dei Mille. They write: “A casually fancy, white-walled, chandeliered hall sporting a cozy marble bar, Mille's from the guy behind former UES hotspot Barbaluc and an acclaimed Italian chef who...credits all his skill to years (and years) of cookin' with grams..."Status: Soft-Open. 3) Williamsburg: Thrillist also reports on the opening of the once plywooded Motorino, a new pizzeria they say has already opened in Billyburg. It’s BYOB for now but other details reveal: "a gargantuan wood-burning oven, Motorino's the unlikely debut from a Belgian-born, French-trained BLT Fish/Bouley vet: a Neapolitan pizza parlor right in the heart of a Red (Sauce) State. The extremely affordable pies range from traditional marinara, to broccolini/sausage/burrata, to mussel-topped, to fresh peas & speck (dried prosciutto that tastes distinctively of juniper..." 4) Greenwich Village: Last week, AHT reported on a plywooded Burger Creations, reporting it would open this week. The menu details are scarce but we’re guessing it will feature, um, burgers?
