Emeril, Boulud, Bayless Cook You Lunch

The weeklong, star-studded Bon Appétit Supper Club and Café kicks off today in Midtown. Hungry?

Lunch in Midtown is about to become much more than a soup-and-sandwich wasteland.

Starting today, the Bon Appétit Supper Club and Café brings big-name chefs from all over the city and country to Midtown, where they’ll cook around the theme “Grown in Manhattan.” The pop-up – organized and sponsored by Bon Appétit magazine (whose current issue has short ribs on the cover that look so good we want to apply the sauce topically) is at 57th Street near 6th Avenue, and lunches run from 11AM-3PM every day, September 21-25.

Some of the talent you’ll see at work: Emeril Lagasse. Daniel Boulud. Rick Bayless. The guys who run Red Hook’s Baked bakery. They’ll be whipping up delights such as mint, fig and chianti glazed lamb, red snapper with black bean-prosciutto refrito, and chocolate covered toffee with pumpkin seeds and sea salt. And not only can you eat their dishes, you can watch them in action, prepping the goods by hand.

Check the full lineup of chefs (and who’ll be cooking on what day) at basupperclubandcafe.com, and follow along on Twitter. And come hungry.
