Aureole Turns 20, Hosts $300 Dinners

Big ups today go to Charlie Palmer as his Upper East Side restaurant Aureole turns 20. To honor the occasion, Palmer hosted a cocktail party last night for media and industry types and a large swath of well dressed regulars, serving 20 "bites" of dishes he's created over the last two decades. Note on the party: those regulars who have been shelling out for meals for the last 20 years weren't shy about swarming the kitchen and hording the fancy snacks (but they deserve it). But the party isn't all Palmer plans to do to celebrate:

He is hosting galas tonight and tomorrow, serving the same 20 bites with wine pairings for a whopping $300 a head. Sounds like a bit much, but according to the flacks, tomorrow is already almost sold out. And, given the number of well-off Charlie-loving regulars in attendance last night, we aren't really surprised. Take a look at a pdf of the full menu.
