‘The Hills' to Return for Fifth Season

We've wondered what would happen to Lauren Conrad when the Hills ends. Whitney Port has a spinoff show, Audrina Patridge is nurturing an inexplicably, mildly promising acting career, and Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt have a way of gaining massive media attention several times a month, even if they are just ribbon cutting at Taco Bell. But Lauren? She's supposed to design clothes and write books for 13-year-olds, with no plans to spend a good amount of time in front of a video camera. Though she had said she wanted the fourth season to be her last, she must have realized abandoning The Hills would put her mystifying super fame in jeopardy, because a fifth season of the show has been confirmed. Audrina tells People:

“At one point, all of us were like, ‘No, we don’t want to do another season,’” she says. “I wanted to do more movies, and Whitney moved to New York and she’s doing her own spin-off. And Lauren’s dating [My Boys actor] Kyle [Howard] but he can’t be on the show because he’s on another show, so that makes it hard.”

Oh, will Lauren never escape the hardship? "We have fun with each other and we’ve stuck it out this long, so we might as well do another one,” Audrina added. Should we rejoice in their selfless commitment to bring us more boring, scripted conversations, pool-party montages, and soul-revealing fights over nothing? As long as Justin Bobby is involved, yes. Yes, we shall.
