“Ghost” to Disappear from the Lunt-Fontanne on Aug. 18

Producers of "Ghost: The Musical" say it's curtains for the Broadway show on Aug. 18.

"Ghost" stars Richard Fleeshman and Caissie Levy, reprising their roles as Sam and Molly, which they originated in London's West End. The musical is based on the 1990 film that made pottery an erotic sport.

At its closing, "Ghost" will have played 136 regular performances. A U.S. National Tour will launch in fall 2013, and international productions are slated for Korea, Germany, Sweden, Hungary, Japan, China and Australia. The U.K. production continues to run.

Entertainment Weekly praised the musical's "striking" special effects, but called the new songs by Dave Stewart and Glen Ballard "bland" and "forgettable mush."
