Anne Hathaway does Twelfth Night for Shakespeare in the Park, starting tonight.

REVISITING THE BARD: Kicking off tonight through July 12, Anne Hathaway brings star power to Shakespeare's shipwreck-romance standby Twelfth Night, part of the Public Theater's Shakespeare in the Park Summer '09 series. The likes of Raúl Esparza and Audra McDonald provide the acting chops. 8PM.

CRACKING THE EGG: It's been 30 -- count 'em, t-h-i-r-t-y -- years since John Hurt chest-birthed a gooey life-form, Sigourney Weaver became the first female sci-fi heroine, and Ridley Scott gave us one of film's most iconic touchstones. A special weeklong anniversary run of 1979's Alien kicks off at Film Forum today, with a glorious new 35 mm print.

CELEBRATING SANDRA: Sexually-ambiguous friendship with Madonna aside, Sandra Bernhard's one-woman show Without You I'm Nothing is the work that put this boundary-smashing comedienne on the cultural map. She revisits the performance 20 years later in a special night at Town Hall, 8PM.
