What You're Doing Tonight, 1/2

A pervy look at classics like 'Oz,' 'Che' redux, and Todd Barry's case of the new year's grumpies

    What You're Doing Tonight, 1/2
'The Pervert's Guide to Cinema' takes a new look at classcs like 'The Wizard of Oz.'

BLUE: Slovenian philosopher and psychoanalyst Slavoj Zizek digs into the nudge-nudge undertones of celluloid classics you didn't even know were filthy (like The Wizard of Oz!) as his doc The Pervert's Guide to Cinema begins a weeklong engagement at the IFC. Showtimes vary.

WRY: With his dark-side wit, comedian Todd Barry is doing two shows at Comix to stomp any fresh-faced new year's optimism right out of you. 8 and 10:30PM.

EPIC: If you didn't get the chance to experience Steven Soderbergh's biopic Che (and to be mesmerized by Benicio del Toro) the first time around, catch it with this special Roadshow Edition at the IFC - it even has an overture and an intermission! Mmm, Oscar-y. 2 and 7:15 PM through 1/8.
