German beer and gypsies will fill the Biergarten this Thursday.

Valentine's Day can be an occasion for crying in your beer, unless your beer is your beloved. Then the two of you can get a little cozy, gaze into each other's goggles and do what comes naturally. Which in most cases is probably to drain the glass. At least that's the premise of Beer My Valentine, an event celebrating the re-sodding of McCarren Park. Brooklynites who want to show some love for McCarren will be on hand for the beer-soaked fundraiser at Radegast Hall & Biergarten on N. 3rd this Thursday benefitting the Open Space Alliance for North Brooklyn.

Since this is Radegast, a $30 ticket (which can be obtained from Brown Paper Tickets a — no joke — fair-trade ticket seller) gets you all the Hefe-Weizen, Gaffel Kolsch, Gosser Pilsner, Hacker Pschorr, Hofbrau and Spaten you can fit in your belly, as well as grilled kielbesa and bratwurst. And since this is Williamsburg there will be a sweaty, Balkan, gyspy-punk band.
