The Ultimate NYC Tourist Treat

There's much to enjoy about the holidays in New York. It's also a time of year when Manhattanites of all stripes steel themselves for the biggest deluge of tourists of the year. And whether you are in Rock Center or the West Village it's no different.

Sometimes these two places meet in a bizarre conflation of City tour highlights.

Take for example Magnolia Bakery's perfect storm: There's well, the hordes already heading to Magnolia to scarf cupcakes on any random weekend, the lure of special edition red velvet cupcakes and then, to top it all off, literally, likenesses of the Rockettes festooning said special-edition red velvet cupcakes.

The cupcakes originated at Magnolia's location near Radio City at Sixth and 49th). “We’ve had a year’s lead time to develop a really cool cupcake,” Tyra Abrams, owner of Magnolia and its creative director tells the Daily News. Appropriately the cupcakes' $3.50 price tag includes a 25 percent discount to the Christmas Show at Radio City. If the Bleeker Street location follows suit expect Marc Jacobs ice box cakes in time for Black Friday.
