After attracting close to 2 million New Yorkers 31 years ago at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the King Tut exhibition is returning to the Big Apple for its final American stop, next month.

The Discovery Times Square Exposition located on 44th Street between Broadway and 8th Avenue, will host the artifacts from the ancient Egyptian young Pharaoh's tomb -- which is currently housed at San Francisco's de Young Museum.

Starting April 23 through January 2, 2011, "The King Tut: Return of the King" exhibition will feature 10 galleries and 130 artifacts, including a first time look at the latest forensic findings on King Tut.
Earlier today, a 25-foot statue of jackal-headed god Anubis was delivered by barge to the South Street Seaport to
coincide with the first day of ticket sales to the exhibit.
