Holiday Must: Midtown Gingerbread Wonderland

Starting today, over-the-top edible houses take over Le Parker Meridien

Starting Tuesday, December 1, Le Parker Meridien hotel will smell a little different.

That’s because its atrium will be home to all kinds of extravagantly over-the-top gingerbread houses, each created by a different bakery around the city (Buttercup Westside, Cupcake Café, NORMA’S, Soutine Bakery and others) with Duff “Ace of Cakes” Goldman setting the rules. Not only can you spend quality time drooling over the houses, laden with only the finest gumdrops, marshmallows and candy canes, $1 buys you a ballot so you can cast your vote for your favorite, and all proceeds go toward City Harvest’s kitchen and pantry programs, feeding the hungry citywide. Insodoing, you could win a trip for two to the Parker Palm Springs, sister property of Le Parker Meridien New York, for five nights. And because it’s bound to get a little frustrating taking in all those delicious aromas, we’d recommend following your house tour with a juicy cheeseburger at the Parker Meridien’s lobby Burger Joint.
