Andrew Carmellini of Robert DeNiro’s Locanda Verde is not immune to the lure of the white truffle – on Monday, December 7, he’ll serve a three-course prix fixe laced with the fragrant fungi, supplied by his partner in ’shrooms, John Magazino of Primizie Fine Foods.
Yes, even the dessert, we’re told, will feature white truffles. Best part? That they’re calling the dinner Trufflepalooza – yep – and in praise of the menu’s $49.99 price tag, the press release includes one of the best lines of copy we’ve read all year: “Trufflepalooza is truffles for the people.”
