The editors of Meatpaper, a San Fransico-based magazine dedicated to the culture of meat -- the art, ideas and "bone-deep emotions" inspired by the subject -- are bringing a few of their friends from the restaurant and wine community in the Bay Area to Brooklyn where all bi-coastal disputes will be forgiven in a charcuterie-laced love-fest at Enid's in Williamsburg on Wednesday November 18.

Diner Journal, the quarterly mag put out by folks who run Williamsburg's Marlow & Sons and the eponymous restaurant is joining forces with the West Coast carnivores for East Meats West (clever, right?) an evening of pure carnivorous delight. The caravan includes west-coast celebrity chef-butchers like Taylor Boetticher of the Fatted Calf and Ryan Farr from 4505 Meats (who proudly proclaimed to the New York Times that his dream is to tag-team a 300-lb pig with Brookyn's Tom Mylan. Mylan, it seems, does not share Farr's enthusiasm. The proprietor of the newly-minted Meat Hook is sitting this one out).
New York will be represented by Marlow & Daughters, Hudson Valley Whiskey and a local goat, which, having been raised ethically and fed only the finest grass, will be more than happy to give its life and be roasted for the event.
