The first Saturday in May is so very, very far away, especially as we type this peering out at a landscape blanketed in white. So we’re all the more excited to head to the Kentucky Colonel's Winter Follies & Early Bird Derby Day Party this Saturday at Brooklyn’s Bell House.
On the board: the southern Girls of Wassabassco Burlesque will twirl and shimmy as rockabilly from The Susquehanna Industrial Tool & Die Co. jettisons any leftovers of your New Year’s Day hangover. And! There’ll even be dazzling bullwhip and rope tricks from fingersmith Chris McDaniel. Wear your best hat (it’s the Derby, so there’ll be a contest), and even though there won’t be any race on the big screen, there’ll still be mint juleps on hand.
