3/31: Eli “Paperboy” Reed, Bacon Bash…

…and Raquel Welch on her memoir “Beyond the Cleavage”

RHYTHM: Eli "Paperboy" Reed’s major label debut “Come and Get It” is designed to make you sweat – and you’re too busy busting a tailfeather to his growly, funky soul sound to ask yourself, say, how is it that a sweet-faced white boy from Massachusetts sounds so much like Otis Redding? Don’t miss his Joe’s Pub show tonight at 7:30PM.

BELLY UP: Here’s what you can expect from tonight’s Bacon Bash: Bacon tastings (applewood, smokehouse, etc.), sliders (with baconaise!), bacon-ranch wings, bacon-salted French fries, and, to wash it all down, a Bakon (sic) vodka cocktail and Brooklyn Brown Ale (where’s the bacon in that? objection!). Village Pourhouse, 6:30-8:30PM.

VINTAGE:  If you’re going to turn to anyone for advice on aging gracefully, it may as well be Raquel Welch (née Raquel Tejada)--at 69, she looks like she could be one of the younger guest stars on Cougar Town. She comes to the Union Square Barnes & Noble to talk about and sign her memoir-cum-advice book “Raquel: Beyond the Cleavage,” wherein she dishes about ho she got that way (spoiler: it’s not all that easy.) 7PM.
