SEASONED: Matt Timms, the man behind the city’s greatest food-offs known as the Takedowns (from lamb to chili to – of course – bacon), turns on out a holiday theme at the Bell House: At the Cookie Takedown, recreational bakers will bust out their tastiest recipes, in hopes of winning over your palate. FIR THE LOVE OF SCIENCE: More than 500 paper ornaments festoon the Origami Tree – now in its 31st year of tradition – at the American Museum of Natural History. 2010’s theme is Discovery, with creased paper ornaments representing, among other things, a dinosaur dig. ALL ABOARD: This Sunday, catch a ride from another era: If you use the 6 Avenue line between the Queens Plaza and 2 Av stations (trains run roughly every hour and a half starting at 10AM) you might catch a vintage subway car from the 1930s-70s, part of the Nostalgia Train program.
