The ivory tide has finally turned: The percentage of white non-Hispanic New Yorkers actually rose last year, reversing more than 50 years of white flight, new census figures show. In fact, the number of whites in the city has gone up 100,000 since Y2K, with half that increase last year alone. That's it, folks. It is 1958. Don't leave the house without your hat and gloves, don't socialize interracially anywhere but Harlem and the Village (bring your bongos!), and good luck finding a Thai place that delivers. [NYT]
