Sasha Grey in The Girlfriend Experience.

    The Girlfriend Experience
Even if you know zip about this buzzy submission form Steven 'Ocean's 11' Soderbergh, you know it stars adult-movie vet Sasha Grey. She's the $2,000-an-hour escort that The Girlfriend Experience follows for five days. At this special screening, Soderbergh, Grey and actor Chris Santos discuss their experience making the film. 8PM, SVA Theater.

    An Englishman in New York
Few actors get to revisit a role from much (much) earlier in their career, but that's exactly what John Hurt does here, picking up the portrayal of flamboyant raconteur Quentin Crisp that he first created in 1975's The Naked Civil Servant. Here, the focus is on Crisp's late-life move to New York and controversy that besieged his final years. 1:30PM, AMC Village VII.

Setting aside the fact that Bette Gordon's story about a woman who takes tickets in a porn theater was pretty groundbreaking in 1984, with its willingness to tackle the idea of a female voyeur, Variety is a fascinating peek into a long-gone NYC. Everybody who was anybody in the '80s downtown scene shows up here, from Spalding Gray to Nan Goldin. 5PM, SVA Theater.
